Known free-agent wide receivers who could sign the Broncos

The Denver Broncos will be without Tim Patrick this season as the stalwart wide receiver fell down with a leg injury at training camp on Tuesday.

Patrick has led the Broncos in touchdown catches for the past two seasons and caught 53 passes for 734 yards in 2021. Replacing its production will not be easy. Despite the Broncos’ depth of talent at this position, there are big question marks after Courtland Sutton. Former first-round pick Jerry Jeudy has yet to prove himself at the NFL level, while KJ Hamler was only activated from the PuP roster on Monday. Rounding out the group are Kendall Hinton, a solid Gadget player, sophomore Seth Williams and rookie Montrell Washington.

With nearly $12 million in cap space, it would make sense if the Broncos were looking for a free agent to pair with Russell Wilson. And some big-name players still haven’t signed.

Here are 10 more names on the market:

  1. Emmanuel Sanders
  2. Odell Beckham Jr.
  3. Cole Beasley
  4. Want filler
  5. John Ross
  6. Adam Humphries
  7. Ty Hilton
  8. All hurts
  9. De Sean Jackson
  10. Danny Amendola

Emmanuel Sanders, 35

The most recognizable name in Denver, Sanders spent six seasons in orange and blue. The Super Bowl 50 winner last played with the Bills. Last season in Buffalo, he caught 42 passes for 626 yards and four touchdowns.

Sanders has 51 career touchdown catches in his 12 seasons, during which he has 704 catches for 9,245 yards.

Another former Bronco to keep an eye on is Diontae Spencer, who was on the team last year.

Odell Beckham Jr., 29

The three-time Pro Bowler clinched a Super Bowl victory with the LA Rams, where he reinforced to catch an important touchdown. He spent his final season between the Rams and Browns. He has had five 1,000-yard seasons, most recently in 2019, and is one of football’s biggest celebrities.

The Rams have said they want him back, and the Cowboys are linked to the wideout. Could the Broncos make a splash and pursue a possible No. 1 guy?

Cole Beasley, 33

The former Bill and Cowboy has been attacked by Josh Allen over 100 times in each of the last three seasons. The reliable receiver has rushed for 5,709 yards and 34 touchdowns in his career. Beasley is more of a possession type and has had over 50 catches in seven of the last eight seasons.

Will Fuller, 28

Fuller jumped from the Texans to the Dolphins last year after five years in Houston. The former Notre Dame first-round pick caught 53 passes for 879 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022. However, his career year was followed by a broken thumb, sustained in week four of 2021, ending his season early.

He’s still a free agent and might be worth a try.

Ty Hilton, 32

Could a four-time Pro Bowler and career Colt sign with the Broncos after 10 seasons in Indy? He’s been one of the more prolific receivers of the past decade; His five seasons of 1,000+ yards ended shortly after Andrew Luck retired.

De Sean Jackson, 35

A three-time Pro Bowler also comes from a Super Bowl win. Could the one-time star Wideout still have some more juice? Even in the last few years, he’s shown he can break up the game by overdoing it.
