Altrincham 1-1 Maidstone United – BBC Sport

Altrincham was only able to share the points with Maidstone despite holding a man advantage in the second half of the 1-1 draw.

The hosts at Moss Lane got off to a humiliating start to the National League season when Liam Brockbank awkwardly saved a fourth-minute free-kick for an own goal.

It looked likely to be the only goal for either side before half-time until a last-ditch effort from Chris Conn-Clarke paid off in the first minute of added time.

The Robins had a one-man advantage after Hady Ghandour was sent off in the 61st minute for a foul on Aaron Bennett, but even five minutes of stoppage time wasn’t enough for them to find a winner.
