Applications for World Academy of Sport scholarships are now open

Applications for World Academy of Sport (WAoS) scholarships are now open through their partnership with the World Curling Federation.

The partnership between WAoS and the World Curling Federation offers our member federations greater opportunities to learn new skills to help them improve their professional careers and the curling community around them.

WAoS International Federation’s full online educational pathway program extends from high school to postgraduate education with some of the world’s leading international educational institutions. From the last two years there are 88 students in the postgraduate program, representing 24 sports and 41 nationalities. The list of current students – including 11 curlers – can be found here.

The “Global Sport Industry” scholarship program comprises two different educational products.

  • WAoS offers a full scholarship and 10.25% tuition to the World Curling Federation for the Postgraduate Certificate, International Sports Management, which is being developed and delivered in partnership with the University of London. The value of the full bursary is £3,857 and the 25% bursaries are £964.25 each. [Sales tax will apply for students studying from the following countries: Australia (10%), Bahrain (10%), India (18%), Japan (10%), New Zealand (15%), Oman (5%), Saudi Arabia (15%), Singapore (7%), Spain (21%), South Korea (10%), UAE (5%), USA (Pennsylvania residents only 6–8%).]
  • 100 WAoS Athlete Certificate Scholarships for each of our member associations with a total value of $40 per scholarship.

To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate International Sports Management (PG Cert) scholarship, applicants should:

The WAoS provides the admitted students with a voucher code for the tuition fees. For the 25% Scholarship recipients, either the student or their sponsor must make full payment arrangements for the remainder of the tuition before the deadline. Students cannot begin the course until full payment has been received via the University of London portal by the specified date.

Please note that the login codes for the WAoS Athlete Certificates must be redeemed before December 31, 2022. Athletes can still complete the course after this date, but login codes must be registered before this date.

Members wishing to participate will receive a coupon code which can be redeemed up to 100 times before expiration. Athletes simply need to enter the voucher code and register for the course once they have completed their registration details.
