19:25 – There will be some key fights all over the pitch tonight. Salah vs Ferland Mendy, Luka Modric vs Jordan Henderson, Van Dijk vs Benzema but Alexander-Arnold’s fight with Vinicius Jr could be key. The England right-back’s defense has come under scrutiny at times and Vinicius Jr’s pace can cause him all sorts of problems.

19:20 – A massive roar from Liverpool fans as their team rush onto the pitch to warm up.

19:10 – Sadio Mane will start for Liverpool and his future at the club will be announced after the game. The Senegalese forward has recently been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. He said: “Honestly, I think the answer I can give you now is I’m feeling really good and I’m fully focused on Saturday’s game, that’s the answer I have ahead of the final must give. But come back to me on Saturday and I’ll be sure to give you the best answer you want to hear. It’s something special. I will then give you everything you want to hear.”

18:55 – Liverpool’s team is out. Thiago is fit while Klopp has chosen Ibrahima Konate as Virgil Van Dijk’s central defensive partner ahead of experienced Joel Matip. Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has become the youngest player in Champions League history to start in three finals, overtaking Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller.

18:45 – While thousands of Liverpool fans are in Paris, there is also a sprinkling around Anfield tonight. They will all be keeping an eye on the team announcement at 7pm. Thiago Alcantara trained on Friday despite picking up an Achilles tendon problem against Wolves last week and fellow midfielder Fabinho has recovered from a hamstring problem, but outgoing striker Divock Origi will not feature with a muscle injury.

18:30 – The atmosphere builds. Ninety minutes until kick-off. Liverpool team news is not far away.

18:22 – Liverpool fans have promised wild celebrations if their side win tonight. A supporter named Henry Lyne, 31, told the PA news agency: “We’re on the home stretch now, I’m nervous but excited at the same time. I think we have the momentum, better team spirit and pedigree we need to get the job done. If we win, I’ll probably wander the streets of Paris singing, the city won’t sleep.”

18:04 – That’s an early team announcement from the Spanish side, ostensibly to avoid being leaked.

17:51 – Real Madrid have already announced their squad. Karim Benzema is named captain while Wales international Gareth Bale, who is out of contract in the summer, is among the substitutes.

17:30 – Liverpool and Mohamed Salah in particular will be looking for revenge tonight after losing to Real in the 2018 final in Kyiv. Salah went off with a shoulder injury in the opening 30 minutes following a tackle from Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale scored twice late to secure a 3-1 win for Los Blancos. However, the following year they bounced back in style, beating Tottenham 2–0 in Madrid, with Salah scoring the goal from a penalty in the second minute.

17:08 – Liverpool great Sir Kenny Dalglish previously greeted Reds fans in a fan zone. He’ll be cheering for his old club later!

16:50 – A warning to Liverpool fans on the pitch tonight. The Twitter account of Liverpool’s Merseyside Police Matchday Police wrote: “I have just been made aware of an attempted theft at the stadium. Apparently local youths are grabbing people and running away. Watch your belongings. take care of each other Take care.”

16:40 – Klopp’s opponent Carlo Ancelotti will make history tonight. The 62-year-old is the first coach to have led a side to five Champions League finals and is aiming for a record-breaking fourth European triumph as manager – a streak that includes AC Milan’s triumph over Liverpool in 2007. Not only that, remember he’s also the former boss of the Reds’ Merseyside rivals Everton!

16:20 – Real Madrid will try to spoil Jurgen Klopp’s party. The Spanish giants, this season’s La Liga champions, have produced plenty of drama en route to glory after sensational comebacks against heavyweights Chelsea, Paris St Germain and Manchester City. They also know what it takes to win the European Cup, having done it 13 times.

4:06 p.m – Thousands of Liverpool fans are in the French capital for the club’s third European Cup final in five seasons. After their quadruple attempts ended last week when Manchester City won the Premier League, the Reds are aiming for a treble this season after victories in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
