QCSF to teach sports culture to students

The Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) will build better sports facilities in higher education institutions and encourage students to engage in sporting activities to greatly boost sports culture in the country, it was announced on Tuesday.
QCSF President Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Naimi announced the federation’s vision and goals at a press conference at the Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters, saying the new sports organization will support higher education institutions to play a central role in the sports arena at both regional and regional levels play global levels. “Our vision is to build better sports activities for college students namely universities, colleges and institutes in Qatar. We leave no stone unturned to discover the most talented students and take our varsity sport to new levels of excellence locally, regionally and internationally.”
In addition to Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi attended the press conference QCSF Secretary General Rashid Saeed Adiba, QCSF Board Members: Dr. Salem al-Naimi, Asmaa Mohamed al-Naimi, Hamad Saleh al-Shaibah, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khaled al-Thani, Safiya Saleh al-Sheeb, Captain Hassan Muftah al-Kuwari and Major Rashid Ali al-Tamimi, as well as staff from universities, sports associations and QOC.
In his opening speech, Dr. al-Nuaimi His Highness Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for his unwavering support of the country’s great sports movement.
The QCSF President has also appreciated the support of Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President and HE Jassim bin Rashid al-Buenain, QOC Secretary General, for collegiate sports activities and their immense help, the QCSF initiative has come true.
“Our main goal is to develop sports and physical activities in higher education institutions in such a way that the sports culture is greatly strengthened and the public and students are encouraged to play sports every day,” said Dr. al-Nuaimi.
“The QCSF is an organization that operates at a complementary level to the sports activities organized in the elementary, middle and secondary schools as part of the Olympic Schools program,” added Dr. al-Nuaimi added.
He said the sport will continue to play a key role in the Qatar 2030 National Vision. “We aspire for Qatar to have world-leading sports status by bringing the world together through sustainable sports development.
“I am truly proud to see that our beloved country of Qatar has a leading record in hosting local and international sporting events,” concluded Dr. al-Nuaimi.
For his part, the Secretary General of the QCSF, Rashid Saed Mohamed, gave a presentation on the QCSF’s message, vision and goals. He said that this pioneer association will spare no effort to discover talented students who can support Qatar’s national teams and sports clubs.
