The year 2022 could bring smiles and happiness to sports lovers around the world. In the past two years, all sports lovers have regretted the cancellation of almost all sporting events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A number of sporting events celebrated a comeback in 2022, and spectators are now allowed in stadiums. Therefore, the upcoming sporting events of 2022 are eagerly awaited by the fans. Several international competitions will be held this year.

The FIFA World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Men’s ICC T-20 World Cup are some of the most talked about tournaments of 2022.

Two of the biggest and most anticipated tournaments in 2022 are ICC World T20 and FIFA World Cup. The ICC World T20 is scheduled to start on October 16th and end on November 13th. Australia will host this cricket tournament. On the other hand, the FIFA World Cup will start on November 21st and its final will take place on December 18th. Qatar is the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, among the upcoming major tournaments, the European Sports Championships (multi-sports) will start on August 11, while the Volleyball World Championships (men) will start on August 26. Much to the delight of tennis fans, the US Open begins August 29th and ends on September 11th.

The UCI Road World Championships (Cycling) are expected to take place from September 18th. The prestigious Presidents Cup golf tournament is expected to start on September 19th. Also, on September 30th the World Table Tennis Championships will start and the World Track Championships (cycling) will press the paddle on October 12th.

However, all tournaments are subject to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic. As in the past, if the situation worsens, these tournaments may be postponed or cancelled. In particular, several major games have already been postponed or canceled this year. The Asian Games, scheduled to take place from September 10, have been postponed indefinitely.
