Stars represent new Nor-Tech 390 Sport owners

Whatever form it takes, the value of excellent timing cannot be ignored. Just ask Joe and Jen Grelulich, the excited new owners of a 2022 Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats 390 Sport Center Console.

The Akron, Ohio-based couple purchased the Mercury Racing 450R triple outboard beauty from Michael Knoblock of American Custom Marine in Kimball, Mich. Knoblock had the “BMW Protonic Blue” 39ft built as a display model for the winter boat show season and still had it in inventory when the Grelulichs were ready to buy.

This Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console is the perfect boat for Joe and Jen Grelulich – at the perfect time.

They took delivery this spring and took the boat to their summer home in Sandusky, Ohio on its custom trailer from MYCO Trailers.

“The deal worked out really well, especially as something you can get at the moment on the market is a bit of a unicorn,” said Joe Grelulich. “Before we took delivery about a month ago, I went out with Mike in the freezing cold on the St. Clair River. I went home and said to my wife ‘life is too short, we have to pull the trigger’ and we bought it.

“This is the first Go-Fast boat we’ve owned – we also have an Express Cruiser – so Mike took his time with me,” he added. “He was great.”

Wherever they are in their lives as parents, the timing for the couple proved just as excellent. The Grelulichs have two sons in college, both in college. Carter Grelulich is a senior. His brother Payton is a freshman.

During the summer, the couple will store the 39-foot machine at their summer home in Sandusky, Ohio.

“We’ve been boaters our entire married lives, but now that the kids are in school we have more time to do more,” said Joe Grelulich. “This is the perfect time to combine our passion for boating and travel.”

To that end, they plan to keep the 39-foot boat in South Florida during the winter and use it in the Florida Powerboat Club’s poker runs, which is something they’ve always wanted to do. In the summer the boat will be back in Sandusky for pleasure/family boating on Lake Erie.

“One of the reasons we bought it was because we fell in love with the poker run lifestyle and want to explore the waters of South Florida,” he said. “But before that we’re going to the Boyne Thunder Poker Run this year.

“Last weekend the boys were home and we rode Lake Erie all weekend,” he continued. “The water was perfect and the weather was beautiful.”

Timing, as the saying goes, is everything.

With an additional tank that increases their boat’s total fuel capacity to 285 gallons, the Grelulichs have great range in their 39-foot boat.
