Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is no stranger to controversy.

This time the excitement started after Khan’s trailer Laal Singh Chaddha was dropped.

Many angry Twitter users dug up the actor’s controversial statements and films to diss the film.

His co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan was also drawn into the drama.

Netizens often use #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha and also refuse to watch his film.

In 2015, Khan made headlines for an alleged comment about India’s “growing intolerance”.

“Our country is very tolerant, but there are people who spread resentment,” he said. His ex-wife, filmmaker Kiran Rao, was also slammed for commenting that she was considering leaving the country for the safety of her children.

Netizens brought up this old statement in hopes of banning the upcoming movie.

Khan was the host of a reality talk show entitled Satyamev Jayate.

He once made a controversial remark about Lord Shiva saying instead of offering milk worth Rs. 20 to Shiva’s idol, it is better to feed a hungry child.

And now netizens have claimed they won’t waste their money buying the ticket to his film, but will use it to feed those in need.

Netizens called on Bollywood to “copy” Hollywood movies.

Khan’s upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha based on the popular Hollywood film Forrest Gump.

Twitter users quickly called the production house and explained that the film was a “cheap knockoff” of the Tom Hanks film.

People also wrote that they would rather watch Forrest Gump on OTT platforms instead of watching their “cheap rip-off”.

A clip of Kapoor Khan’s comment on nepotism during an interview with journalist Barkha Dutt Mojo News also goes viral.

The actor commented that people shouldn’t watch movies starring star kids if they have a problem with them.

She added that people encourage nepotism by watching her films.

Now fans mockingly agreed with the actor’s statement and promised not to watch the film.
