If minimalist beauty trends are right up your alley, let us turn your attention to Hailey Bieber. In recent years, the model has established herself as the queen of dewy, natural-looking beauty looks, and her latest manicure obsession suits her perfectly. Nicknamed “Glazed Donut Nails” and created by her manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, this manicure is a dream come true for anyone looking to take a little break from over-the-top nail art designs.

“I go through phases where I have my nails stuck to a theme for a consistent amount of time,” Bieber said in a recent interview with POPSUGAR about Rhode, her new skincare line, which launches June 16. “A few months ago I did these jelly colored nails where I took a color and added clear coat over it to make it look like it was see through so I did that for a while. Then I got busy with something else for a while.”

Bieber discovered “glazed donut nails” almost by accident when she and Ganzorigt collaborated for the 2022 Met Gala. They had already applied a coat of subtle baby pink nail polish when Ganzorigt suggested a slight change. “She said, ‘You want to see it with the chrome dust?'” says Bieber. “I’ve done chrome before, but I’d never done it with a thin coat of polish before – and as soon as we did it I was like, ‘I’m sticking with it. This is my new phase.’”

Since first trying the look at the Met, Bieber has experimented with different iterations: “I’m testing it out with a few different colors, and this is like the nude shade — my glazed donut nails.”

Chrome nails are one of summer’s biggest nail art trends, but most celebrities are using bold hues like silver, purple, gold, and green, while Bieber’s glazed donut nails have a much more understated look.

Ganzorigt also revealed on Instagram the exact nail products needed to get the look: Prep with the OPI GelColor Base Coat ($22), apply a layer of the Nail Labo Presto Color Gel ($15) mixed with clear gel, a Apply a thin coat of OPI Chrome Effects No Cleanse Top Coat ($14), rub on OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can ($14) and seal with a coat of OPI Gel Color Stay Shiny Top Coat ($20).
