Mona Lisa might be her most famous paintings in the world. The masterpiece created by Leonardo da Vinci is often the main attraction for those visiting the Louvre Museum in Paris.
On Sunday afternoon, a man dressed as a wheelchair-bound elderly lady rushed towards the painting and smeared cake on the protective bulletproof glass covering it. Then he threw roses on the ground.
But even as he was being escorted by museum security, the man addressed the people recording him, reportedly stressing the importance of protecting the environment.

Videos of the attack on the painting went viral on social media. A Twitter user translated what the man said after throwing the cake at the painting, writing: “Exactly that: think about the earth, think about the earth, there are people who are destroying the earth, think about it . All artists tell you to think about the earth, all artists think about the earth, that’s why I did Think about the planet.”
Maybe this is just crazy to me, but a man dressed as an old lady jumps out of a wheelchair and tried to smash the Mona Lisa’s bulletproof glass. He then smears cake on the glass and throws roses everywhere before being attacked by security guards. 😂??? pic.twitter.com/OFXdx9eWcM

This is not the first time mona lisa faced the wrath of museum visitors. As reported by The guardIn 2009, a Russian woman allegedly frustrated that she had not been granted French citizenship threw a ceramic mug at the woman mona lisa. Fortunately, the painting was protected by bulletproof glass at the time.
